Each of our athletes has their own story and has come to the world of bodybuilding after a series of experiences. Some have done it almost by chance or have been influenced by family or friends and others, athletes from the cradle, have ended up irremediably discovering the sensations of getting on the stage. The athlete to whom we dedicate our post today, got to know the world of weightlifting thanks to his career as a judoka. Let's get to know Jesús Pérez better, who reveals some curiosities and anecdotes from his career.
Jesús Pérez told us that it was as a result of his physical preparation as a judoka that, at just 13 years old, he discovered weightlifting: “at that time it was an essential complement to my evolution as a judoka” . Thanks to that moment, he says he discovered a world that currently brings him “tranquility” and helps him “release a lot of tension and disconnect from everyday life”. Let’s get to know Jesús Pérez in more detail and discover some of his projects and obsessions in competition.
Getting to know Jesus Perez better…
When did you get started in bodybuilding?
I started judo when I was six years old and when I was thirteen I started doing my physical training with weights. From then on, it started to be an indispensable complement to my evolution as a judoka.
What does bodybuilding bring to your life?
It gives me peace of mind and helps me release a lot of tension. Training is the time I really have for myself, to disconnect from the daily grind. Just like what happened to me in my competitive path as a judoka, it has taught me to overcome myself and to be consistent on the path to achieving what I really want. It is part of my life.
