Getting to know Alberto Gaitero better…
When did you start judo?
I started judo when I was five. My mother signed me up because I was a very active boy and she recommended it to him to burn off energy.
What does judo bring to your life?
It has given me many things, I think it has shaped me as a person. It has taught me that if you want to achieve your goals you have to make the maximum effort, you have to fight for your dreams. There are also difficult moments, but you have to always come out of them stronger and correcting mistakes.
Your 3 Amix must-haves are…
Cellzoom , for me the best pre-workout, gives me extra energy when I need it. I just love it. MAPs , the best amino acids I know and ISO protein , to recover after every workout. These supplements always!
Alberto Gaitero: “Being with my family made the competition super emotional”
Which competition do you remember most fondly and why?
I think I have several that I remember fondly, but I would highlight my first Spanish championship because of the feeling of being my first national gold. Also being with my family made it a super emotional competition. Although later I have received very important medals for me, such as the junior world medal.
What are your plans for 2021?
Competing in the Olympic Games and… hopefully with great results!
Do you have any habits before getting on the mat?
I don't have any obsessions, but I do like to have everything under control. To be clear about what I have to do at any given moment and to take care of all the details.
We wish our champion all the success in the world, who works daily on his projects, who learns from difficult moments and who affirms that judo has shaped him as a person. Let's go for the title!
