Batidos de proteína para el verano: 4 recetas refrescantes listas en 3 minutos

Summer is no reason to let your guard down with protein. In fact, that's when you need it most.

In the heat, the body sweats much more, dehydrates sooner and muscle catabolism accelerates if protein needs are not properly covered.

We have prepared four protein shake recipes perfect for this summer: light, refreshing, ready in less than three minutes and designed so that protein is not a formality but something you really want to drink. With seasonal fruit, easy-to-find ingredients and AMIX protein as a base, you have the perfect combo so that June, July and August don't cost your muscles a single gram.

Why is protein especially important in summer?

Most people associate protein powder with winter and bulking season. However, it is in the summer season when its consumption gains more relevance. Heat raises body temperature and increases sweating, which loses water, electrolytes and, to a lesser extent, amino acids.. If you train in summer, the increase in temperature added to the stress of exercise accelerates muscle breakdown, especially if protein intake is neglected in the hours after training.

Additionally, heat also reduces appetite, making it easier to consume fewer calories and therefore fall short of your total daily protein intake.

A cold and well-posed shake can help solve this problem, providing between 20 and 30 grams of high-quality protein in a short time and with little digestive effort.

The general recommendation for active people is 1.6 to 2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. If you train five days a week and in summer your meals become lighter, shakes are your best ally to avoid falling behind.

Creamy Yogurt Lemonade: The freshest and creamiest smoothie

Not all summer smoothies have to be tropical. This yogurt lemonade is creamy, citrusy and with a freshness that is reminiscent of a traditional frozen yogurt. The type of shake to have when you are looking for something light, but satisfying at the same time.

The Greek yogurt base provides additional protein, a dense texture and a dairy profile that fits perfectly with the lemon-yogurt flavor of your protein. The result is a smoothie that tastes exactly like what it promises.

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop (30 g) of Protein ISO HD Lemon flavor - Yogurt
  • 150 g plain Greek yogurt
  • lemon juice
  • 150 ml of cold milk or vegetable drink
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 handful of ice
  • Lemon zest to decorate

Preparation

  1. Put the Greek yogurt, cold milk and ice in the blender.
  2. Add the lemon juice, honey and protein
  3. Beat for 30-40 seconds until you get a smooth and creamy texture.

Piña Colada Fit: The treat that doesn't break your diet

All the flavor of a piña colada in its healthiest version. Without sugar, without alcohol and with 25 grams of protein that will help you meet your daily requirements.

This recipe works as a snack, as breakfast or as a post-workout on days when the body asks for something more festive. The coconut milk and pineapple base is already very creamy, and the protein makes it filling enough to last until the next meal.

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 1 scoop (30 g) of AMIX IsoPrime CFM® Pina Colada flavor
  • 150 g fresh pineapple or in its juice (drained)
  • 150 ml coconut milk
  • 100 ml cold water
  • 1 handful of ice
  • Grated coconut to decorate (optional)

Preparation

  1. Place the pineapple, coconut milk, water and ice in the blender
  2. Add the protein and beat for 40 seconds until smooth.
  3. Serve in a wide glass and sprinkle with grated coconut on top for a piña colada effect.

Protein Iced Coffee: The frappé that replaces the cafeteria one

This is the most different smoothie on the list and, possibly, the one that will most surprise those who try it for the first time. A frappe with 25 grams of protein, without added sugar and ready before the coffee in the coffee maker cools down.

The combination of caffeine and protein also has a well-documented synergistic effect: protein slows the absorption of caffeine, which translates into a smoother energy peak and a much less abrupt energy drop than that of black coffee. Ideal for morning pre-workout or as a mid-afternoon snack.

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 1 scoop (30 g) of AMIX Black CFM® Ice Coffee flavor
  • 1 double espresso coffee (60 ml), cold
  • 200 ml semi-skimmed milk or vegetable drink
  • 1 generous handful of crushed ice
  • Cinnamon powder to taste (optional)

Preparation

  1. Prepare the coffee in advance and let it cool in the refrigerator. Never add hot coffee directly to protein — it causes lumps and alters the texture.
    2. Put the ice, milk, cold coffee and protein in the blender.
    3. Beat for 30-40 seconds until you get a foamy and homogeneous texture.
    4. Serve in a tall glass with additional ice. A touch of cinnamon on top finishes the recipe.

How to prepare protein shakes in summer? 6 Tricks that Make the Difference

Anyone can mix protein with water. But there are some details that separate a smoothie that you really want from one that you have out of obligation.

  • Always use frozen fruit. Frozen fruit fulfills the role of ice without watering it down. The smoothie is thicker, colder and more flavorful than if you use fresh fruit plus ice separately. Freeze diced bananas, strawberries or mango and always have them on hand in the freezer.
  • Never mix protein with hot liquids. Heat can partially denature the protein and almost always causes clumps that are difficult to dissolve. With coffee it is the most common mistake: prepare the coffee before, cool it and use it cold.
  • The order of the ingredients in the blender matters. Put the liquid first, then the fruit and ice and add the protein last. This way the blade works better from the beginning and the protein does not stay stuck to the bottom.
  • For more creaminess, add half a banana. Banana acts as a natural thickener in any smoothie. If you want a denser texture without adding more protein or significant calories, a small banana or half a large banana does the job.
  • Take it immediately. Protein powder shakes are best freshly made. If you let them rest for more than 20-30 minutes in the refrigerator, the texture becomes denser and in some cases the flavor changes slightly.
  • Clean the mixer when cold. Always rinse the blender with cold water immediately after use, never with hot water. The heat coagulates the protein remains and turns them into a scab that is difficult to clean.

Summer Protein Shake FAQs

Can protein powder be mixed with very cold water or ice directly?

Yes, no problem. Quality whey protein and vegan protein dissolve well when cold as long as you use a blender or mesh shaker. Cold does not affect nutritional value or absorption, it is a common myth in the fitness world that should be debunked.

How many protein shakes can I drink a day in summer?

It depends on your weight, your activity level, and how much protein you get from the rest of your meals. In general, one or two shakes a day are enough to complement a normal diet. If you train very frequently or have difficulty meeting your protein needs with solid food, two shakes are a practical and safe solution.

Does protein powder lose properties with cold or ice?

No. Cold does not degrade protein or reduce its biological value. What can affect the quality of a protein is sustained high heat — above 70-80°C — not low temperatures. You can use ice, frozen fruit or even prepare the smoothies and store them briefly in the freezer without any problem.

Are these shakes suitable to drink before training?

It depends on the recipe. Protein Iced Coffee is best suited for pre-workout due to the natural caffeine in coffee. Fruit recipes are better as a post-workout or snack — they have more simple carbohydrates that help recovery but before training can feel heavy for some people.

Can I make these smoothies if I am lactose intolerant?

Yes. AMIX vegan protein is completely lactose free. For whey recipes, use lactose-free milk or a plant-based drink instead of regular milk — the result is virtually identical. The coconut milk and coconut water that appear in several recipes are also 100% lactose-free options.

How long can I keep a protein shake in the refrigerator?

The ideal is to drink it freshly made. If you need to save it, a maximum of 12-24 hours in a closed container in the refrigerator. After that time the texture deteriorates and the flavor changes. Never leave a protein shake at room temperature for more than two hours.
